The waste problem in Africa, in particular we are talking about Nigeria, is becoming a unique opportunity to create jobs.
The collection of waste along the roadside provides the nation with a real treasure. In fact, to respond to the growing demand for aluminum, a metal that, as we know, finds uses in various supply chains, Romco Metals began collecting aluminum on the street in 2015 and recycling it.
The business, which arose near Lagos, sees Raymond Onovwigun, founder of the company, as its pioneer. Romco currently melts and recycles around 1,500 tons of aluminum scrap every month, with a production capacity that can however be double. There is talk of as many as 450 direct jobs, however, fueling an induced amount of 5,000 workers with the prospect of doubling within the year.
